BEASTIARIUM
BEASTIARIUM #1 Medusa
BEASTIARIUM #1 Medusa
Medusa was the most famous Gorgon in the Ancient Greece. She was a beautiful maiden that was cursed by the Goddess Athena to become what we all know today as the “Monster that has the body of a woman, the tail of a serpent, hair made of snakes, and the ability to turn to stone anyone who looked in her eyes”.
Her “crime” was that she was sexually violated in Athena's temple by the God Poseidon. This piece of art, is a tribute to the victims that are blamed and made to suffer for someone else's crimes.
The “BEASTIARIUM” Series
This is a series inspired by my fascination for Cryptozoology, mythical creatures, and urban legends. The collection started as an attempt to create a mythical book on beasts. Illustrating such a large project will be a life-long endeavour, so I decided to release the illustrations individually.

Some believe this to be based on the limit of genetic variations that can be produced, while others believe on more mystical origins. Some, even suggest that these are shadow creatures or even changelings.

BEASTIARIUM #9 Echidna
BEASTIARIUM #9 Echidna
Echidna was a monster, that according to Greek Mythology, was half womand and half snake. She is considered to be the mother of many monsters (Cerberus, Hydra, Sphinx, Scylla, and more) in Greek Mythology, and the wife of Typhon.
Even though she was immortal and ageless by nature, she was killed in her sleep by Argos.
About the Original
The Original Piece is a freehand drawing with ink, watercolour, and pencil on cold pressed premium Winsor and Newton paper.
